OLIVIA ANN RAMSEY. NINETEEN. THE NEUTRALS. MINKA KELLY.
how she got here
letting her feet sink into the sand, the brunette's gaze was presently set on the guy in front of her. a small, mischievous smile played across her lips, one that would warn anyone off if they knew her well enough - luckily for her, he didn't. she watched as he stepped closer, wrapping her arms around his neck, pulling away from him a little as his lips touched hers you know, we can make this a little more fun the tone was suggestive as she gestured toward the water, stepping away from him as she slid out of her dress, revealing a black bikini underneath, biting down on her lip, wondering if he had gotten her idea. she held in her laughter as she saw his eyes widen, before he proceeded to lick his lips. i say we go skinny dipping her confidence was prominent in her voice. another look towards him was telling her that he was thinking about it, before he started nodding quickly, already making his way into the water, discarding his clothes on the sand as he did so. she ran another hand through her hair, making her way towards the water, seemingly as if she were about to join him, knowing that he was waiting for her to take the bikini off, feeling his gaze on her as she walked. i need you to close your eyes for a minute.. you can catch me her words were followed by a wink. it wasn't until she saw his eyes closed that she grabbed his pile of clothes, trying to be as silent as she could as she started running towards her car. opening the car door and dumping his clothes on the passenger seat. she started the engine, counting a few seconds in her head before she heard him calling her name, unable to keep it in any longer, she finally burst into a small fit of giggles, backing out of the parking lot as she answered her buzzing phone. i take it that you've done it.... i feel bad. his house is a ten minute walk away, liv.. she heard her best friend, lisa's, voice on the phone, sounding a little weary. oh come on, you were all for it when he cheated on you a month ago. he deserved it.
------
after about five minutes of driving she heard her cellphone buzzing again, letting out a sigh as she assumed it was lisa again, probably letting the guilt get to her again. she picked it up, head still buzzing a little from the drinks that they had earlier, ready to tell her that if he had anyone to blame it wouldn't be her, it would be olivia for coming up with the idea - not that it was the first time she had done something like that, though at least this time it was for a reason. olivia was the type that had too much fun messing around with guys, getting into their heads, making them want something only to take it away just as quickly. she looked at the caller id, getting proved wrong as she realized that it was her mother. she took a small breath, trying to make herself sound as sober as possible, knowing that her mother wouldn't like the idea of her driving while she was so obviously buzzed. but, she could already hear her moms voice as she accepted the call, i need you to pick up kyle! dad and i are working late tonight and he's at brad's house! her eyes widened, shaking her head, knowing full well that her mom couldn't see her gestures. mom, i can- she heard her mom tell her that she had to go, and then heard the line cut off. grabbing the phone again, she called her mother again, getting straight to the answering machine. that was fine though, she dialed in her fathers number, letting out a soft groan as his machine went off too. a slight nod, and then she turned the car, heading into the direction of brad's house - brad being kyle's best friend.
gently pushing down on the beeper, she watched as kyle ran out of the house. a soft smile appeared on her face as she watched him smile brightly at the realization that it was her picking him up. she nodded towards the back and unlocked the doors, turning her head to see him hop into the backseat of the car, already going into a monologue about some new video game that brad had gotten. laughing as she backed out of their driveway, she listened to him during the whole ride, nodding a few times to indicate that she was actually listening. she really was listening, her attention trying to stay focused on him and the road, not noticing that the car was swerving to the other side until she heard a honk, eyes widening as she saw a truck in front of her. clutching onto the steering wheel, she quickly swerved the car, not knowing what else to do. she let out a gasp as the car suddenly went out of control, decreasing slightly in speed before it slammed into a tree, taking the right breath out of her for a moment. the car stopped, a look to the passenger seat showed that the air bag hadn't come out, she came to the realization that the impact hadn't been as bad as it could have been. she turned around to check on kyle, his eyes mirroring her own widened ones. getting out of the car, she immediately opened his door, kneeling down to look at him, her voice as shaky as she was, a sudden stutter appearing in her voice for once, still scared that he was hurt i'm so sorry! are.. are you okay? d-does anything hurt?! she asked, smoothing a hand over his hair. no.. he shook his head slowly, eyes widened, still staring at the tree. she frowned before seeing him turn his head to look at her, a look pof amusement appearing on his face that felt like a ride at the amusement park!. olivia laughed softly, shaking her head a ride that you're never going to have to go through again! she said, getting up and walking to the front of the car, examining the damage to the front and letting out a groan at the sight.
-------
tears were welling up in her eyes as she stood in front of her parents. they had gotten straight out of work after hearing about the accident and they had just put kyle to sleep, now staring straight at her. she winced a little, feeling their gaze burn into her skin. they had already gone over the lecture about drinking and driving. and now her mother was standing up in front of her, shaking her head, your fun was okay before, but.. not this time. you're supposed to be his role model, olivia. think about that, will you? with that, she walked off. her dad looked from her mother, to her, giving her a soft kiss on the forehead, speaking softly as his accent was much more noticeable than the rest of theirs siamo dispiaciulti per l'incidente - they were said about the accident, his eyes were casted down to the floor as he spoke the words, but they set upon her once more she's just.. upset. i'm glad you two are okay.. and then he walked off too, leaving her alone, in the middle of the living room, with tears streaming down her face. she knew her mom was right, she knew that all the fun wasn't supposed to have kyle added into the equation. she also knew that the accident - even though none of them had actually gotten hurt - could've been tragic.
------
she had to do this. she knew that her parents weren't making her do it, that they would prefer if she stayed at home, but she knew that she had to go and clear her mind somewhere else - not in italy. it was why she was at the airport right now, listening to the announcement telling her that she was to be on board in ten minutes. a glance to her family was already showing her that they were teary eyed as well as her. she watched as her parents both stepped forward, pulling her into some group hug as kyle stood there, looking upset. she hugged them back, tightening the embrace i love you guys. i'll call, alright? take care though.. she said, sniffing a little as she pulled away. wiping her eyes before they landed on kyle then, her ten year old brother was staring up at her. he was just as stubborn as her sometimes, he had refused to talk to her the whole ride there, an attempt to make her feel bad for leaving. she stooped down to his eye level, staring into his eyes, waiting for him to break the gaze, and sighing as he glared a little. she grinned slightly, pulling him into a hug, i'm sorry, hun. she said, about to pull away from him before she felt him clutch onto her. a moment later, and she pulled away slightly, you know i love you. and, i need you to be good, okay? give them a little break now that i'm not going.. to be here she said, kissing his forehead, and wiping away his tears. she smiled at him as he nodded, looking at her parents and then at him, and.. if they start driving you insane just call me to rant about it, kay? she gave him a wink, her smile brightened as he started laughing. with that being said, she got up, grabbing her suitcases, giving them one last smile before heading into the boarding area.
------
how are you liking the apartment?! her aunt asked, as she gathered her purse, her voice sounding excited. olivia nodded, taking another look around the apartment, a smile appearing on her face, i love it! thank you for finding it for me on such short notice.. she said, giving her a hug as she nodded and left the place, shutting the door on her way out. of all places, she was in oklahoma - she had been for about five months now. it was the only place that she knew well enough from vacations, and the only place where she had some family other than italy. she also had some friends there as well, along with the one guy that actually challenged her, the one that actually made her have to give that extra little effort to get into his head. this new life was already proving to be fun.
the personality
things are never simple when it comes to olivia, nothing ever goes according to plan - though a lot of that is probably due to the fact that she has never been a big fan of the word - at least not unless there was a plan that she would create herself. at most times, she tends to be spontaneous, meaning, she does things without thinking anything through. and, if there's ever a time when she does think about her actions beforehand, it's usually beacause she's coming up with her own little scheme for her own benefit. sometimes this could be done for something good, like when her loyal side comes out and she's trying to help out a friend. however, there's those moments when it's for no actual reason at all. she tries her best to have fun in most situations. she's stubborn to the point where she doesn't enjoy giving into people easily. and, as you can guess, a lot of the times, when these things are mixed up, she ends up getting into some trouble. her carefree attitude is one of the reoccuring topics in the lectures that she would get repeatedly from her parents, and even with the amount of times she had to hear it, she never seemed to change her ways. it was the accident that was the last straw for both her parents and for her. while she's been trying to change up her act a little bit, trying to be a little bit more responsible, it's proving to be easier said than done, considering that she can't seem to get herself out of certain situations.
any relationship/friendship with her would depend on how she could interact with you. she isn't a bitch, at least not to the point where she's going to be cold with someone for no reason. upon meeting her, if there's nothing that's going to go wrong with this first meeting, she would come off as friendly, in her mind, it doesn't seem to make much sense to brush someone off if they haven't done anything to harm her or the people that she cares about. though, that doesn't mean that she's naive - she isn't quick with letting anyone have all her trust, it takes time to get on that side with her. on the other hand, if her encounter with the person is on the negative side of things, it would mean that those friendly tactics would be quick to slip away until something could be done to change her mind.
the word 'love' isn't in her vocabulary just yet, but that doesn't mean it's completely shut out, just that she hasn't been in a relationship where the feelings have gotten that far. this might be due to the fact that she's enjoying the single life at the moment, with no complaints. she tends to be a tease, the type that will heat things up before coming to an abrupt stop. she likes playing games, but doesn't neccesarily enjoy when other people are trying to take the lead in those games - unless of course, it's a certain type of person that knows how to play it well, and knows how to challenge her.
