PARKING LOT
grade and social divide can be seen among the cars. sophomores are paired with other sophomores in zones but a corvette will be found next to station wagon. fights often occur over painted words on windshields, broken windows, and scratched paint jobs. this is what happens when rich and poor mix in one location, the school has only it's self to blame

ENTRANCE & STEPS
words are exchanged around the time of the bell, harsh ones that cause a shadow to be held over someone's head for the rest of the day or until they find their cliques. the steps are communal ground and anyone is welcome, sometimes fees such as money needs to be paid to the school bully but most of the time, it's a safe zone (mostly cause teachers are lurking around)

CLASSROOMS
one of the reasons that you are required to come to school is to learn and by doing that, you are supposed to be sitting in a classroom. this covers every subject from science to math and then to history. take notes, fall asleep, stare at your cute teacher, whatever you want, just be sure to actually go.

CAFETERIA
socialization is key when it comes to keeping your mind on the prize, school. lunch is the time to do so, there is an outdoor cafeteria that allows more of an open feel and less of a prison feel but either way, food and gossip. the latter spreads quickly between the divided tables, both by clique and by class..

LIBRARY
tables for studying, books for reading and back corners for making out. that's pretty much all that happens when the students enter the library. the computers are sign up only but students get around that easily and with two stories for the librarian to watch over, there is a lot of trouble that one can get into without being caught.

GYMNASIUM & AUDITORIUM
a place where both sport and theater are combined. a pullout stage and bleachers creates a harmonious setting for a school production if you can ignore the buzzer and the sound of the basketball hitting the ground for the two places are one in the same. often conflicting interests result in some interesting arguments but a schedule can be worked out to accommodate those who sing and those who shoot.

COURTYARD
the school actually encircles a very small but slightly breathtaking courtyard. the socs parents invested in it and it was money well spent, benches line the walls with the fountain in the center. it's meant to class the place up a little more with the greasers attending the school and they have made their mark on the courtyard as well. graffiti, gum everywhere, trash, and then the neturals who sit and watch everything but stay silent. it was supposed to be a place to socialize but it just turned into another segregated part of the community.

FOOTBALL FIELD & BLEACHERS
one thing that the two classes can agree on is their home team. only during games will you see a kind of harmony that is unseen anywhere else in town. during the school days, the bleachers are zoned but there are rule breakers that like to ruffle the other class' feathers.
